The 2017 Sunbeam Celebration will be here before we know it! We want to make sure everyone marks their calendars for October 7th, 2017. This years celebration will be held at Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN. Thank you to all that are helping putting this wonderful event together.
Even with it a few months away, we are starting the search for both silent and live auction items! This is where we could use help from YOU! If you own a business or know anyone that does and it willing to donate items, time or services, please let us know! We are grateful for any items big or small.
All money raised at the celebration goes to support the ongoing operation at Sunbeam. This celebration could not be possible without all of YOU!
Please feel free to contact either team coordinator Mel Harmon or social media coordinator Maureen McCarthy with questions or items for donation.

This morning, the Woodbury Community Team put on a pancake breakfast to raise funds for their upcoming trip to Sunbeam. This fundraiser was a free will offering and allowed you to eat as many pancakes as you wanted! Along with the breakfast, the team set up tables with more information on Sunbeam along with the country of Jamaica. The eating tables also had pictures on them from past trips. This is just one of the fundraisers the team is putting on to gather funds for their trip.
When talking to team leader and chairperson Kristy Beissler, she said this fundraiser was a great opportunity for her team to work together. She continued on by saying that “it is great to raise money but to have several opportunities to come together as a team before we depart is priceless!”
A couple hundred dollars was raised this morning from the breakfast. Kristy said that the money raised today will be going to pay for a pizza meal for the boys during one of their days on the trip.
The next fundraiser will be a garage sale with all proceeds going to Sunbeam. Contact us for more information on how you could help out with donations.
Weren’t able to make it to the breakfast this morning? Donations are always welcomed on our website or by mail. Checks can be made out to “Sunbeam Association for Mission”. Our address is:

Thank you Woodbury Community Team for your ongoing support to Sunbeam!
Our boys need shelter, healthcare, nutrition, education and most of all LOVE. Please consider a ‘Give to the MAX‘ donation to provide basic necessities, plant a seed of hope and keep our boys healthy. #GTMD16 #GiveMN #SunbeamBoys
Sunbeam Association for Mission is a 501(c)3, organized exclusively for charitable and religious purposes, specifically for the purpose of establishing and maintaining Sunbeam Boys Home in Jamaica to serve children and young adults in Jamaica; to provide a safe and nurturing environment; and to teach the principles of Christian living. Sunbeam Boys Home provides shelter, care, and an education to 40 boys, ages 7-18. We also maintain a transition program for young men 18+, providing support and encouragement and assistance with living and school expenses.
Mission teams from America are a great asset to our program. Teams stay at Sunbeam, building relationships with the boys, sharing the love of Christ and doing physical labor as needed for upkeep of our facility.
